Shivaughn is one of those rare clinicians who understands both the science and the system.
With over 20 years in healthcare and a background spanning oncology, pediatrics, geriatrics, patient throughput, and clinical leadership, she brings depth to every patient interaction. She earned her BSN from the University of Colorado and completed her graduate degree at the University of Indianapolis, later becoming board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner
But what makes Shivaughn different isn’t just her resume.
It’s perspective.
Her journey into root-cause medicine began as a patient. After personally navigating insomnia, weight gain, and fatigue, she experienced firsthand what happens when you stop suppressing symptoms and start asking better questions. That experience reshaped how she practices — and how she teaches.
Shivaughn serves as our Education Leader, and that role is intentional. She doesn’t just implement protocols — she refines, evaluates, and elevates them. She helps ensure that what we teach is structured, clinically grounded, and applicable in real-world practice. Education is not theory here. It is case-based, systems-driven, and designed to build clinical reasoning.
As a mentor within our training programs, Shivaughn plays a key role in developing practitioners who want to think more critically and practice more confidently. She embodies the standard we expect: evidence-aware, ethically grounded, and focused on long-term vitality rather than short-term fixes.
Clinically, her areas of focus include:
- Hormonal imbalances & thyroid health
- Autoimmune and inflammatory conditions
- Brain health and cognitive function
- Digestive and gut health
- Regenerative and longevity-focused medicine
- Weight optimization and metabolic health
Outside of clinic hours, she is raising three teenagers with her husband Jeff, walking the trails at Fort Ben with her golden retriever, lifting weights, quilting, or reading (her Kindle goes everywhere).
Shivaughn represents what this platform stands for:
Science-first. Education-driven. Systems-based care.
She leads from the front within YDH Academy.
